Care and Maintenance
1.To clean moderate dirt, we recommend periodically washing with clear water using a garden hose and a soft-bristled brush. A long-handled brush designed for car washing is ideal for this task. To clean heavier dirt accumulation, follow the same method as mentioned above, but utilize the following solution:
- 1/3 cup detergent (e.g., Tide®)
- 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate (e.g., Soilax®)
- 1 gallon water
- Mildew can accumulate on various surfaces, including building products, especially when proper maintenance is neglected. It typically appears as black spot. To remove mildew, you can use the following cleaning solution:
- 1/3 cup detergent (e.g., Tide®)
- 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate (e.g., Soilax®)
- 1 quart sodium hypochloride 5% solution (e.g., Clorox®)
- 3 quarts water
- Environmental black streaking, caused by various environmental factors, can also develop on the surface of a structure. It is recommended to seek guidance from the installer on the most effective method to remove the streaking from your unit.
- To clean caulking compounds, tar, or other similar substances, apply a reasonable amount of mineral spirits directly to the foreign substance. Afterward, rinse the area thoroughly with water immediately to complete the cleaning process.
